Masakuni Odajima (小田島 正邦, Odajima Masakuni) (né Koorida, 郡田 正邦, Koorida Masakuni; born April 12, 1979) is a former professional Japanese baseball player and coach.
Yomiuri Giants
He played in 14 games in 2010. During the year, he practised fielding as a catcher, and after a pinch hitter was put in a game against the Tohoku Rakuten Golden Eagles on June 6, 2010, he played as a catcher for the first time in five years. On November 4, 2010, he announced his retirement during the off-season and on the same day announced his voluntary retirement as a player.[1] At the same time, he switched to a bullpen catcher. He was inducted as a scout for the Yomiuri Giants in 2019, but left at the end of the year. From 2024, he was inducted as the battery coach for the Yomiuri Giants U15 Juniors.[2]
