Mandu Kangri (also Masherbrum Far West and Masherbrum II[3]) is a 7,127 m (23,383 ft) high mountain in the Gilgit-Baltistan region in Pakistan. It is located in the Masherbrum Mountains in the Karakoram. It is 2.32 km southeast of Masherbrum. It has a prominence height of 627 m (2,057 ft).[4]
Climbing History
The first ascent of Mandu Kangri was made by a 10-member Italian expedition led by Augusto Zanotti in 1988 via the west face. On September 8, 1988, they reached the summit.[2] A second British expedition reached the summit on September 11, 1991.[3]
Secondary Peak
A second summit, Mandu Kangri West, is 300 m west of the main summit. It is currently unclimbed.[5]
