Mahavatar Sri Bhai Guruji, also known as Víctor Truviano, is an Argentinian spiritual teacher who describes himself as a breatharian. He has stated that he does not eat and does not drink liquids, claiming to sustain himself through prana (vital energy). His claims have attracted international media attention.
Early life
Bhai Guruji was born in Argentina and has been described in press reports as a violinist who performed from a young age.[1]
Philosophy
Bhai Guruji describes himself as a breatharian and has stated that he has not eaten since 2006 and has not consumed liquids since 2007, claiming to sustain himself on ''prana''. ''El País'' reported that his claims have been met with skepticism from medical experts, who said that long-term survival without food or water is biologically impossible. Bhai Guruji travels internationally to give talks and retreats promoting pranic living.[2]
Media coverage and public profile
Bhai Guruji's claims and public appearances have been covered by media outlets in multiple countries. In 2019, the Spanish television channel Cuatro launched a show called ''La vida con Samanta'' (Life with Samanta) which featured his claims of prolonged fasting. In 2023, the Indian newspaper Vijaya Karnataka reported on him, including his assertion that he had lived without food or water for more than 17 years. Such coverage reflects public interest in his claims and teachings, but does not constitute scientific verification.[1][3] Uruguay newspaper El País have criticized his claims and reported that medical experts said long-term survival without food or water is biologically impossible.[2]
