Luisa Tamanini (born 31 January 1980) is a retired road cyclist from Italy. She represented her nation at the 2005, 2007, 2009 and 2010 UCI Road World Championships.[1]

Career

Tamanini began racing in 1990, becoming interested in the sport thanks to her brother. She moved to the Province of Varese to join the CSI Ju Sport.[2]

She was active in the youth categories between 1999 and 2003, winning the U23 national time trial championship and the general classification of the 2003 Giro del Trentino.[3] She achieved a stage victory at the 2005 Tour Féminin en Limousin and in 2007 finished second in the 2007 Italian National Championships.

She won gold in the women's road race at the 2009 Mediterranean Games in Pescara.[2][4]

She retired from cycling during the 2013 season.[5]

Personal Life

In 2014 she had a son, Francesco Giovanni.[6]
