Lucio Filippucci (born 30 November 1955) is an Italian cartoonist.
Life and career
In 1975, he began working on several adult comic series published by Edifumetto. A few years later, in 1979, he replaced Milo Manara as the artist for the Chris Lean series published in the magazine Corrier Boy, where he also illustrated numerous short stories.[1][2][3][4][5] He also worked for the French market in collaboration with his friend Giovanni Romanini and, during the same period, illustrated several advertising campaigns for local authorities. Also for Edifumetto, he drew 16 episodes of the Raimbo series, published from 1985 to 1986, and, in collaboration with Romanini, the series I ragazzi della 3ª B, published from 1988 to 1989.[2][6][4]
In the 1990s, he illustrated Patrizio Roversi's Il manuale di autodifesa televisivi for Sperling & Kupfer and Syusy Blady's Il manuale della tap model for Longanesi.[1][3] He collaborated extensively with Panini and other publishing houses on children's books, such as Piccoli and Juvenilia. He also began collaborating with Sergio Bonelli Editore, joining the staff of the Martin Mystère series and various spin-off series.[2][1][3][5]
In 2003, he illustrated his wife Maria Gabriella Buccioli's book, I giardini venuti dal vento, about the botanical garden they tend in the municipality of Loiano, which received the Hanbury Botanical Gardens Award. In 2005, he received the ANAFI Award for Best Artist.[2][1][3]
In 2008, he created Texone, based on a script by Gino D'Antonio, and then joined the staff of Tex, creating several issues of the regular series.[2][3][7]
