Lackovce

Lackovce (Hungarian: Lácfalva) is a village and municipality in Slovakia.

The municipality lies at an altitude of 157 metres (515 ft)^[3] and covers an area of 3.59 km² (1.39 sq mi) (2024).^[4] Lackovce is situated at the confluence of the Laborec and a side stream.

The first mention of the village was in 1451. Until the Treaty of Trianon the community belonged to the Kingdom of Hungary, to Zemplén, a district of Humenné, later to Czechoslovakia, during World War II and from 1993 to Slovakia.

It has a population of 927 people (31 December 2024).^[6]

In year 2021 was 834 people by ethnicity 798 as Slovak, 70 as Rusyn, 13 as Not found out, 8 as Ukrainian, 5 as Albanian, 4 as Czech, 4 as German, 3 as Russian, 2 as Polish, 1 as Chinese, 1 as Italian, 1 as Hungarian, 1 as Other and 1 as English.

In year 2021 was 834 people by religion 528 from Roman Catholic Church, 153 from Greek Catholic Church, 86 from None, 29 from Eastern Orthodox Church, 16 from Jehovah's Witnesses, 9 from Not found out, 8 from Evangelical Church, 2 from Ad hoc movements, 1 from Jewish community, 1 from Other and not ascertained christian church and 1 from Christian Congregations in Slovakia.
