Lázek is a mountain in the Zábřeh Highlands (Zábřežská vrchovina) in the eastern part of the Czech Republic. With an elevation of 715 metres (2,346 ft), it is the highest peak of the Zábřeh Highlands.[1][2]
Geography
Lázek rises near the village of Cotkytle in the Ústí nad Orlicí District of the Pardubice Region.[1] The summit forms the highest point of the Zábřeh Highlands, a geomorphological unit situated between the Mohelnice Depression and the Hanušovice Highlands.[2]
The mountain and its surrounding slopes are largely forested and form part of a gently undulating upland landscape typical of the region.[1]
Tourism
The summit of Lázek is a popular excursion destination. A lookout tower (rozhledna Lázek) and the adjacent Reichl Hut (Reichlova chata) stand near the top.[2]
The hut and the original wooden observation tower were constructed in 1933 as a tourist facility serving visitors to the highlands.[2] Hiking trails from nearby villages, including Cotkytle and the Lanškroun area, lead to the summit.[3]
