Kilburn Hall Youth Centre is a youth detention centre in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada. It serves youth aged 12 to 17. It has 45 beds.[1]
2015 death
In July 2015, a 17-year-old detainee at the centre died after being taken to Royal University Hospital. An inquest heard that the youth had asked to go to hospital the night before, but a supervisor believed he was experiencing methamphetamine withdrawal rather than an overdose. Testimony indicated staff had little training to distinguish between withdrawal and overdose.[2][3]
