Khandaker Muhammad Shahidul Emran[a] is a two star officer of the Bangladesh Army and the incumbent commandant of the Bangladesh Military Academy.[1][2]

Education

Emran enlisted to Bangladesh Military Academy in 1990 and was commissioned in the East Bengal Regiment on 9 June 1992. Emran is a graduate of Defense Services Command and Staff College, National Defense College and National Defense University in United States. He obtained Master in Defense Studies from National University, Dhaka, Master of Arts in strategic security studies from National Defense University, US and MPhil in strategy and development studies from Bangladesh University of Professionals.[1]

Military career

Emran has notably served as the commanding officer of the 29th Bangladesh Infantry Regiment and brigade commander of the 69th Infantry Brigade.[1] He was promoted to the rank of major general on 3 January 2024, when he was made commandant of the Bangladesh Infantry Regimental Centre.[3] Later, he was trasnferred as the commandant of the Bangladesh Military Academy.[2][4]
