Kelsea Bond (born 1993 or 1994) is an American politician, serving as a member of the Atlanta City Council for District 2 since 2026. They[a] are the first Democratic Socialist of America to be elected to the Atlanta City Council.[3][4]
Bond was born at DeKalb Medical and grew up in DeKalb County where their mother was a teacher and their father worked for the state government.[5] Their grandfather was a city manager in Macon and Tifton.[6] They graduated from Decatur High School.
After studying abroad in Paris and experiencing the French healthcare system, Bond was "completely sold on universal healthcare".[6] Bond earned their bachelor's degree at the University of Georgia and their master's degree in economics from Georgia State University.[6][7] Bond was a member of the Georgia Partnership for Adult Education Research advisory board in 2019.[8]
In 2025, they were elected to the Atlanta City Council.[9][10]
They are opposed to "Cop City" and supportive of expanding the Atlanta Beltline.[11] Bond lives in Midtown Atlanta. They own a cat.[7]
