John Steven Hale (born August 5, 1953) is a former outfielder and first baseman in Major League Baseball. He played from 1974 to 1979 for the Los Angeles Dodgers and Seattle Mariners.

In 1974, Hale recorded four hits in four at bats across four games, consisting of three singles and one double, with two runs batted in. This set a record for the most at bats in a season without a hitless at bat, breaking the record of three at bats held by Alphonso Gerard (1947), Jim Brideweser (1953), John Paciorek (1963), and Sparky Lyle (1971).[1]
