Jelenia Góra railway station
Jelenia Góra railway station is the principal passenger railway station in Jelenia Góra, in the Lower Silesian Voivodeship of south-western Poland. Located at 77 1 Maja Street, it serves as the city’s main rail hub and is an important station on the regional network connecting Jelenia Góra with Wrocław and the western Sudetes.[1][2]
History
The development of the railway contributed significantly to the growth of Jelenia Góra in the nineteenth century. Municipal tourism materials state that the present station building dates from 1886.[3] The railway also influenced the city’s urban transport system; from 8 April 1897 the station was linked with the city centre by tram.[4]
In the twenty-first century, the station became part of broader modernization projects in Lower Silesia. PKP Polskie Linie Kolejowe reported that Jelenia Góra was included in the rollout of centralized dynamic passenger information systems.[5]
Location and operations
Jelenia Góra station is situated near the city centre and functions as the main railway gateway to the Karkonosze region.[6] It forms part of the railway system associated with lines no. 274 and 311 in the Jelenia Góra area.[7][8]
The station is served by regional trains of Koleje Dolnośląskie and by other passenger services listed in the national railway timetable system.[9][10]

According to the PKP passenger portal, the station provides passenger information services and accessibility features for persons with reduced mobility.[11]
Significance
Jelenia Góra railway station has long been one of the city’s main transport nodes. It played an important role in the development of tourism in the Jelenia Góra Valley and continues to serve as a key point of access for visitors travelling to the Karkonosze Mountains and nearby spa and resort towns.[12][13]
