The Jefferson Area Local School District is a school district located in Jefferson, Ohio. The school district serves one high school, one junior high school, and two elementary schools.
History
The Jefferson Area Local School District formed in the mid-20th century, following the consolidation of several small one-room schools in Jefferson, Rock Creek and Roaming Shores.[2] Jefferson Area High School was built shortly after in 1962.
In 2009, a new junior/senior high school was constructed in 2007 and opened in 2009 to modernize the high school and middle school facilities.[3]
