Irunda

Irunda is a rural settlement in the Yagba East Local Government Area of Kogi State, Nigeria. It forms part of the Okun-speaking area in north-central Nigeria and is listed among the villages in Yagba East.

Irunda is situated north of the Isanlu axis within a tropical savanna zone. The landscape features low hills, woodland patches, and seasonal streams typical of the Yagba plateau.

Residents engage mainly in subsistence and small-scale farming. Major crops include yams, cassava, maize, sorghum, and cashew, alongside oil palm produce. Livestock rearing, particularly goats and poultry, supplements agricultural income.

The village is inhabited largely by Okun Yoruba people who speak the Yagba dialect. Christianity is the predominant religion, with elements of traditional belief practices present in the community.

Irunda is accessible by laterite roads connected to neighbouring settlements in Yagba East. Mobile telecommunications services are available through major network providers, and basic educational facilities are located within the area.
