Ilka Scobie

Ilka Scobie is an America art critic and poet.[1][2]

As a critic Scobie has penned pieces for Whitehot Magazine[3], Artnet[4], La Stampa, Marie Claire Italia, Brooklyn Rail.[5], and the International Association of Art Critics Magazine[6]

In 2010 Scobie and her husband the photographer Luigi Cazzaniga began a working with the Soncino Biennale in Soncino, Lombardy[7] to broaden the exchange between Italian American artists, which also to a symposium she participated in at the Hauser & Wirth Gallery in New York which included 2020 Soncino Biennal artists Uman and Chris Martin. in 2021 Scobie published the book of poetry Any Island (Spuyten Duyvil Press).[9] Lynn McGee in writing on the volume in American Book Review remarks ...."Native New Yorker Ilka Scobie is not infatuated with the city of her birth. Her regard for the urban puzzle known as New York City is a mature love recognizing its flaws with unapologetic nostalgia. She pulls this off with aplomb'....[10]

She is an associate editor of the poetry and art magazine Live Mag and among many other places has published her poetry in its pages[11].
