Horse Shoe Inn

The Horse Shoe Inn is a historic pub in West Rounton, a village in North Yorkshire, in England.

The building was constructed in the late 18th century,[1] and it was converted into a pub in the 1860s.[2] The front door was altered in the 20th century. The building was grade II listed in 1970.[1] The pub was owned by the Hoare family for almost 100 years until it closed in 2005. It reopened in 2010,[3] but closed once more in 2022. In 2023, it was listed as an Asset of Community Value, and permission to convert it into a private house was refused.[4][5]

The pub is built of rendered brick, with dentilled eaves, and a pantile roof with rendered coping on the right. It has two storeys and is two bays wide. On the front is a doorway, and the windows are horizontally sliding sashes.[1] Inside, a large wrought iron horseshoe is fastened above the bar.[3]
