Helen Marie Yate (1 January 1921 – 11 August 2020) was a British swimmer,[1] who competed at the 1948 Summer Olympics.[2]
Biography
At the 1948 Olympic Games in London, she competed in the women's 100 metre backstroke event.[3]
At the ASA National British Championships she won the 110 yards backstroke title in 1949.[4]
She represented the English team[5] at the 1950 British Empire Games in Auckland, New Zealand,[6] where she won three medals in the 110 yard backstroke and relay events.[7][8][9]
