Haywards Heath College is a sixth form college in Haywards Heath, West Sussex, England. It forms part of the Chichester College Group and provides academic and vocational education primarily for students aged 16–18.
The college offers A level courses and technical qualifications including BTEC programmes.
History
The origins of the institution lie in Haywards Heath Grammar School, which opened on 9 September 1958 and was run by the East Sussex Education Committee.[1]
In 1980 the site became 'Haywards Heath College, offering mainly post-compulsory education for students aged 16–18.[2]
In August 2005 the college merged with Crawley College to form Central Sussex College.[3]
The Haywards Heath campus closed in 2017 due to financial difficulties within Central Sussex College.[4]
In 2020 a new Haywards Heath College opened as a purpose-built sixth form college operated by the Chichester College Group. The college provides A levels and technical qualifications for students across Mid Sussex.
