Harttia longipinna is a species of freshwater ray-finned fish belonging to the family Loricariidae, the mailed catfishes, and the subfamily Loricariinae, the armored suckermouth catfishes.[2] This catfish is endemic to Brazil, where it is found in the upper and middle São Francisco River basin in the states of Bahia and Minas Gerais.[1] This species grows to a standard length of 5.7 cm (2.2 in).[3].
