Hanny Pelupessy (born 2 May 1942), better known by the stage name Hanny Ray, is an Indonesian actress, singer, dancer, and model. She was a member of the Aneka Nada group in Bandung and is known for her leading role in Terpesona (1966).
Biography
Ray was born Hanny Pelupessy on 2 May 1942 in Batavia, Dutch East Indies.[1] She graduated from high school and English foreign language academy.[1]
Ray has an interest in the field of vocal arts which made her became a singer and then joined the Aneka Nada group in Bandung.[1] When she was 14, she was cast in Hadiah Dua Djuta (1962) as an extra and about four years later she starred in a leading role in Terpesona (1966).[1] Apart from starring in films, Ray continued to develop her talent as a singer and became a dancer by joined Eka Quarta Dance Group which was led by Rima Melati.[1] She also worked as a model and then starred in few films, such as Si Pitung (1970), Banteng Betawi (1971), Tangan Besi (1972), Tendangan Maut (1973), Jinak-Jinak Merpati (1975), Magdalena (1978), Jurus Maut (1978), and others.[1] By 1979, Ray has starred in 16 films and resided at Benda II/6 Street in Kebayoran Baru, South Jakarta.[1]
