Haematopota rara, the lace-winged horsefly[2] or shy cleg,[3] is a species of horse flies (insects in the family Tabanidae).[4][5]

Distribution

H. rara has been recorded in the eastern United States west to Ohio[6] and Tennessee,[7] south to northern Virginia[6] and in New Brunswick and Nova Scotia in Canada.[8]
