Godwin Tom
Godwin Tom is a Nigerian music talent manager and entertainment executive serving as the inaugural managing director of Sony Music Publishing Nigeria since 2022.[1] He is the founder of Creative Business Academy (CBA), founder and former CEO of iManage Africa, a talent management company where he managed several prominent Nigerian artists including Wizkid, MI Abaga and Waje.[2][3][4]
Career
Tom began his career as an artist and performed for seven years. He quit the stage to become talent manager exploiting his experience as a former artist to manage top Nigerian artists.[5] He founded artist management company, iManage Africa and served as its CEO managing several artists including MI Abaga, Ice Prince, Wande Coal, Bez, Show Dem Camp (SDC), Jessy Jagz, among others. He managed Wizkid during his early solo performances and Waje before leaving the artists in 2014.[6][7]
After 14 years in artist management role, Tom switched to executive position founding Music Business Academy (MBA) for Africa to train music executives. The academy later rebranded to Creative Business Academy (CBA) and expanded its curriculum to cover film, fashion, and gaming industry. In 2022, Tom was appointed as the first managing director of Sony Music Publishing Nigeria.[8][9]
