George Dunn (1872-1938) succeeded Charlie Checkett as Curator of the Adelaide Oval in 1919.[1][2] Dunn was succeeded by Albert Wright in 1920.[3] Dunn is significant as the 5th curator of the Adelaide Oval and being the first curator born after SACA was founded in 1871.[4]
Cricketer
George Dunn was a profession Cricket player with the Waddesdon Cricket club in the year 1895 he played against Schorne College. He captured all 10 wickets and the hat trick. Dunn had been known by Mr. H. E. White (superintendent of Lord's Cricket Ground) since 1893. After leaving England Dunn Moved to New Zealand Before Moving to Australia.[2]
Adelaide Oval's curator
Dunn succeeded Charlie Checkett in 1919. Dunn was the first new curator in 37 years.[5] While Dunn was the curator of the Adelaide Oval, he prepared many matches and got complements for many matches.[1][6][7] In March 1920 Dunn resigned from being the Adelaide Ovals Curator.[8][9] Dunn was succeeded by Albert Wright who served until his death in 1938.[10] Dunn died in 1938.[11]
