Ezra Deran Michel is an American singer-songwriter, musician, actor, and social media influencer. He is the lead singer of the band The Pussyboys.

Career

Michel makes pop and folk music.[1] He is the lead singer of the band The Pussyboys.[2] In 2021, he released his single "Girl Baby" about an AFAB person growing into their nonbinary identity and receiving positive responses and support from their community.[1] The music video starred Laith Ashley and Gottmik.[1][3] Another one of Michel's singles, "Man of my Dreams" was popular on the social media platform TikTok, where Michel had over 150,000 followers in 2022.[4] He is a popular LGBTQ creator on the platform.[5]

Michel worked with Trans Pride Los Angeles and Youth Pride NYC to support transgender and queer youth.[4] He was the first openly trans masculine actor on Telemundo's American comedy drama television series 100 días para enamorarnos.[4] He founded the clothing line Pussyboy Apparel.[2]

Michel was named in the 2023 Forbes 30 Under 30 list.[4][6]

Personal life

Michel attended Mills College but later dropped out.[6]

He is transgender and also identifies as nonbinary and gender fluid.[2] He is of Mexican descent, as his father was born in Mexico.[2]

Michel is married to transgender actress and influencer Elle Deran.[2] They moved from Los Angeles, California to Jalisco, Mexico.[2] Michel was previously in a relationships with Bob the Drag Queen and Rose Montoya.[1][7]

He is sober.[2]
