Everyone Knows Every Juan is a 2025 Philippine dark comedy drama film directed by Alessandra de Rossi. The screenplay was written by Carlo Enciso Catu. The cast includes De Rossi, Edu Manzano, Gina Alajar, Joel Torre, Ruby Ruiz, Ronnie Lazaro, and JM de Guzman. The plot focuses on a family reunion held one year after the mother's death.

The filmmakers shot the movie using a single continuous take technique. It was released in Philippine cinemas on October 22, 2025.

Plot

The Sevilla siblings meet at their ancestral home. They are there for the first death anniversary of their mother, Juaning Sevilla.[2] The siblings have different social statuses and keep secrets from each other.[3]

Tupe is the eldest sibling. He is a 67-year-old cosmetic surgeon who drives a camper van.[4] Rose is a corporate leader.[2] Josie dropped out of school and has financial difficulties.[2] Ramil works various jobs, including construction.[2] Roel is a former musician with alcoholism.[2] Raquel is the youngest. She is a law graduate who cared for their mother before she died.[4]

Rose tells the family she had their mother's body exhumed for an autopsy. This causes an argument.[2] There is also a dispute over the house ownership.[3] Jacob, the gardener, says he has a claim to the house.[5] Alfred, Raquel's partner, supports Jacob.[3]

Development

This is the second film directed by Alessandra de Rossi. Her first was My Amanda in 2021.[8] De Rossi also produced the film.[2][9] She planned to enter the film in the Metro Manila Film Festival, but Vic del Rosario decided to release it separately.[3]

Filming

The director used a continuous take format for the film.[10][11] Rico Gutierrez worked as the technical director.[12] The crew used theater actors to test the camera movements and blocking before the main cast arrived.[13]

The cast rehearsed for two days.[10] Filming took two days to complete.[14] De Rossi stated that they used two takes in total. This was necessary to show a change from day to night.[12]

Release

The film premiered at SM North EDSA on October 20, 2025.[6] It opened in Philippine theaters on October 22, 2025.[8]

Netflix released the film for streaming on February 5, 2026.[13]

Reception

Fred Hawson of ABS-CBN News wrote that the film was an "ambitious undertaking."[7] He noted that while the acting was good, there were technical issues with the camera and lighting.[7]

Gina Alajar stated that she was initially concerned about the project because of the short shooting schedule.[15] The Manila Bulletin wrote that Kelvin Miranda was a "quiet force" in his role as the gardener.[5]

The film reached the number one position on the Netflix Philippines Top 10 Movies list in February 2026.[13]
