Enzo Angles (born 2 May 1995) is a French professional table tennis player. He is a former European Junior Champion and currently competes in the Major League Table Tennis (MLTT) in the United States, where he was named the league's inaugural Most Valuable Player (MVP) in 2024.[1]
Career
Junior and European career
Angles emerged as a top prospect in French table tennis during the early 2010s. In 2013, he won the gold medal in the boys' singles at the European Junior Championships in Ostrava, defeating Tomislav Pucar in the final.[2]
In 2021, Angles won the men's singles title at the ITTF Finnish Open. He secured the victory against João Geraldo after trailing 0–3 in games and saving nine consecutive match points in the deciding seventh game.[3]
Major League Table Tennis
In 2023, Angles was selected as the first overall pick in the inaugural MLTT draft by the Carolina Gold Rush.[4] Angles has spoken publicly about his interest in helping grow table tennis in the United States through the MLTT. On joining the league in 2023, he stated: "It's an honor to be a part of the MLTT and play in the United States. I can't wait to take on the best players in the league and show the fans what I'm capable of on the court."
- 2024 Season: He was named the league's Men's MVP after leading his team to the top of the East Division standings.[5]
- 2025 Season: Angles led the Carolina Gold Rush to the 2025 MLTT Championship title, defeating the Texas Smash in the final held in Philadelphia.[5]
Playing style and equipment
Angles plays an attacking style built around loops and forehand finishing. His performance at the 2021 Finnish Open drew attention to his ability to compete under pressure.
Angles is a brand ambassador for the German table tennis manufacturer GEWO. He uses the GEWO Sensus Carbo with GEWO Codexx Superselect Pro 55 rubbers.[6]
