The East Germany women's national handball team was the national handball team of East Germany. The team won the World Women's Handball Championship three times, in 1971, 1975 and 1978.[2] They also won a silver medal at the 1976 Olympics and a bronze medal at the 1980 Olympics. Their last tournament was the 1990 World Women's Handball Championship, where they finished 3rd.[3]
