Edward Brian Davies FRS (13 June 1944 – 2 June 2025) was a British mathematician who was professor of Mathematics, King's College London (1981–2010), and was the author of the popular science book Science in the Looking Glass: What do Scientists Really Know.[2][3][4] In 2010, he was awarded a Gauss Lecture by the German Mathematical Society.[5]

Davies died on 2 June 2025, at the age of 80.[6]
