Duncan Dunlop is a Scottish Liberal Democrat politician who has served as a Member of the Scottish Parliament for South Scotland since May 2026. He is a member of the Scottish Liberal Democrats.

Biography

Dunlop is a charity chief executive.[1] In the 2026 Scottish Parliament election, he was elected as a list MSP for South Scotland [2] after placing third in Midlothian South, Tweeddale and Lauderdale. He stood for Lothian East at the 2024 United Kingdom general election.[3]

He is the brother of historian and broadcaster Tessa Dunlop.[4] He is descended from the Clan Dunlop through his grandfather the physician Sir Derrick Dunlop.
