Dead Sea Live

Dead Sea Live is a live album by Russian rapper Morgenshtern,^[1] released on February 13, 2026. The release is a live version of the mini-album Alisher, performed acoustically on a natural salt island in the middle of the Dead Sea. With this album, the artist solidifies his position in the "Russian rock" genre, demonstrating a complete abandonment of his usual sound and lifestyle.

In early 2025, Morgenshtern publicly spoke about his struggle with bipolar disorder and depression, after which he voluntarily underwent treatment at a rehabilitation center in Israel. The release of the mini-album Alisher on February 14, 2025, served as a kind of creative report on the psychotic episode he had experienced.^[2]

A year later, on February 13, 2026, the artist decided to mark the "first anniversary of sobriety" and his self-reinvention with a symbolic concert.^[3] The chosen location was a unique one—the salt islands of the Dead Sea, symbolizing the "bottom" from which the artist began his return.^[4]

The acoustic reinterpretation of the tracks from Alisher emphasizes the depth and confessional nature of the lyrics. The recording featured the "sober collective" of musicians Morgenshtern worked with on the studio version of the album.

The setting on the Dead Sea added symbolism to the performance: salt crystals, the lowest point on Earth's surface, and the absence of the usual comforts of civilization. In addition to the five main tracks from Alisher, the live set included "favorite songs"—presumably early hits in a new, minimalist sound—as well as a special bonus track "Flower", which concluded the performance.
