Antônio Evanil da Silva (27 January 1935 – 5 December 2019), known as Coronel, was a Brazilian footballer who played as a central defender. He made eight appearances for the Brazil national team in 1959.[1] He was also part of Brazil's squad for the 1959 South American Championship that took place in Argentina.[2] He died on 5 December 2019, at the age of 84.[3][4]

International career

Coronel was selected in Brazil's squad for the 1959 South American Championship (Argentina) and played six games during the tournament.[5] The game against Peru on 10 March[6] was his first cap with Brazil.[7]

The friendly game against Chile on 20 September 1959 was his eighth and last cap with Brazil.[8][9]
