Chad L. Williams is an American business executive and entrepreneur based in the Kansas City Metropolitan area. He founded Quality Technology Services (QTS), a data center company.[1]
Williams entered the data center industry in 2003 and formally launched QTS in 2005. The company expanded through acquisitions and redevelopment of industrial properties into data centers in several U.S. markets.[2][3]
On October 9, 2013, QTS Realty Trust completed its initial public offering on the New York Stock Exchange, raising approximately $257 million and converting to a real estate investment trust (REIT).[2]
Blackstone acquired QTS in August 2021 for $10 billion[4], taking the company private. Williams remained chief executive until March 2025.[1][5]
