Chế Nguyễn Quỳnh Châu (born July 3, 1994)[2] is a top female model, MC and actor in Vietnam.[3] She became famous when participating in the movies Apple tree blooms,[4] Dad, I'm Sorry,… and was especially successful when she won the title of the first runner-up in the Miss Grand Vietnam 2022 contest.[2][5][6]

Biography

Quỳnh Châu was born and raised in Lâm Đồng, where she studied at Võ Trường Toản High School. She then attended the University of Finance – Marketing in Hồ Chí Minh City.[5] During her studies, she worked as a model and then she participated in a number of model and beauty pageants. By 2017, she was relatively famous in Vietnam. However, it was not until 2022, when she achieved beauty achievements[7] and participated in movies, that Quỳnh Châu really became famous and became the leader among young models in Vietnam.[8]

She married businessman Nguyễn Ngọc Phát at the Church of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, Tân Định, Hồ Chí Minh City in October 2025.[9]

Career

After a period of modeling, in 2013 she participated in the F-idol contest and won an impressive prize. In 2014, she participated in Vietnam Fashion Icon and won.[8] In the same year, she was invited to be a model for the Project Runway Vietnam contest for designer Lý Giám Tiên and she eventually won, then she performed in New York City, Paris.[10] After that, she participated in Vietnam's Next Top Model season 5 and she reached top 9. In 2014, she won consecutive competitions, so the media at that time focused on her.[2]

With the support of tradition and the press, she registered to participate in Miss Universe Vietnam 2015 and she only reached the top 15.[11] In 2016, she participated in Miss Ao Dai Vietnam and reached top 5.[12][13] In 2017, she participated in the show MasterChef Vietnam and stopped at episode 5.[14] And it was not until 2022, when she was encouraged by fans to participate in Miss Grand Vietnam, that she registered and finally won the title of first runner-up to the regret of the audience.[15]
