Cary L. Whittingham (born May 30, 1963) is an American former professional football player. He played linebacker in the National Football League (NFL) and played college football for the BYU Cougars. Whittingham was selected by the Cincinnati Bengals in the ninth round of the 1986 NFL draft.[1] He was also a member of the Indianapolis Colts and Los Angeles Rams in 1987.
He is the son of Fred Whittingham and the younger brother of Kyle Whittingham. As a member of the Rams, he was teammates with his brother and played under his father, who was the linebackers coach at the time. His son, Jason, played football at the University of Utah for his brother, who was the head coach from 2005 until 2025.[2][3][4][5]
