Carl Alan Kress (February 3, 1937 – May 11, 2012) was an American film editor.[2][3] He won an Academy Award in the category Best Film Editing for the film The Towering Inferno.[4]

Kress died on May 11, 2012, in Bishop, California, at the age of 75.[5]
