On August 8, 2025, it was announced that "Black Flame" would be used as the opening theme for the television anime Tensei Akuyo no Kuro Rekishi, which premiered on October 8, 2025.[3]
The track was made available for digital pre-release on October 9, 2025, ahead of the physical single release.[4]
The single was issued in two configurations: a limited first edition including a bonus DVD, and a standard CD-only edition.[5] The release strategy combined early digital distribution with physical sales to maximize chart performance.
Composition and themes
"Black Flame" was written and composed by TSINGTAO, Takato Nakamura, and Ryo Ito, with arrangement and production handled by Nakamura.[6]
