Billy Budd is a 1955 American television play based on the novel Billy Budd by Herman Melville. It was directed by George Roy Hill.[1] It featured one of the first performances of Geoffrey Horne.[2]

Reception
"I thought the producer did a whale of the job," wrote Hartford Courant.[3] The Washington Daily News called it "a memorable viewing adventure."[4] The San Francisco Chronicle called it "one of the best live dramas of the year."[5]
