B28 (trainset)

The B28 is an under-development high-speed EMU set, built for the Mumbai-Ahmedabad High speed rail corridor.Its development was first publicly announced by the Standing Committee on Railways on 11 March 2026. BEML has designed and developed the trainsets with two rakes under construction in Bengaluru.It is planned to achieve operational clearance in late 2027.The trainset has been designed for use at a speed of 280 kmph and will be upgraded to achieve 350 kmph along with ETCS Level 2 signalling systems.[1][2][3][4]
