Winter Olympics appearances (overview)

Austria competed at the 2026 Winter Olympics in Milan and Cortina d'Ampezzo, Italy, from 6 to 22 February 2026.

Snowboarders Benjamin Karl and Anna Gasser were the country's flagbearer during the opening ceremony.[1][2] Meanwhile, snowboarder Alessandro Hämmerle and skeleton athlete Janine Flock were the country's flagbearer during the closing ceremony.[3][4]

Austria qualified one female and one male cross-country skier through the basic quota.[9] Following the completion of the 2024–25 FIS Cross-Country World Cup, Austria qualified a further three female and two male athletes.[9]

Short-track speed skating

Austria qualified one male short-track speed skater after the conclusion of the 2025–26 ISU Short Track World Tour.[11] Nico Andermann will be the first male Austrian short-track speed skater to compete in the winter olympics.[12]
