Anne Marie Braafheid
Anne Marie Braafheid is a Curaçaoan actress and beauty pageant titleholder who became the first black woman to attain the position of first runner-up in the Miss Universe 1968 contest.[1][2] As Miss Curaçao, she was the choice of two judges for the Miss Universe title, which was won that year by Miss Brazil.[2] At the time, she was a primary school teacher.[3]
Fluent in five languages, she has been married since the 1970s, has one daughter, and still resides in Curaçao.
In popular culture
She had a part in the much-debated 1970 Italian giallo film, Le tue mani sul mio corpo.
