Alvania josephineae is an extinct species of minute sea snail, a marine gastropod mollusc or micromollusk in the family Rissoidae.[1]
Distribution
Fossils of this marine species were found in upper Miocene strata in Maine-et-Loire, France.[2]
Etymology
This species is named after Joséphine de Beauharnais, first wife of Napoleon. It was described concurrently with Alvania napoleoni, named after her husband.[2]
