Associated plants include pilo (Coprosma spp.), ʻapeʻape (Gunnera petaloidea), ʻalani (Melicope spp.), hāpuʻu (Cibotium spp.), hame (Antidesma platyphyllum), and māmaki (Pipturus albidus). It is threatened by habitat loss.[4]
