Adnan al-Hamdani
Adnan al-Hamdani (died 1979) was an Iraqi official. He was appointed as the Minister of Planning in late 1975,[1] and as the Deputy Prime Minister five days before his execution in 1979 as part of the 1979 Ba'ath Party Purge.[2] He was reportedly shot dead by Barzan al-Tikriti.[2][3]

In order to put the chemical weapons plan into effect in late 1975, Saddam moved Adnan al-Hamdani to the all-powerful Ministry of Planning where he could oversee Iraq's entire industrial development.

The most surprising name on the list was that of Adnan Hussein al-Hamdani, whom Saddam had only five days previously appointed his deputy prime minister and head of the president's office.
