A constitutional referendum occurred in Morocco on 23 May 1980.[1] It proposed amendments to article 21 of the 1972 constitution regarding the Regency Council, lowering the King's age of majority from 18 to 16.[2] Official results reported 99.6% approval with 96.8% voter turnout.[3] A second referendum followed one week later concerning articles 43 and 95.
