The 2026 season will be the San Francisco 49ers' 77th in the National Football League (NFL), their 81st overall, their 13th playing their home games at Levi's Stadium, and their tenth under the tandem of general manager John Lynch and head coach Kyle Shanahan. The 49ers will attempt to improve upon their 12–5 record from the previous season, make the playoffs for the second consecutive season, and host the NFC Championship Game.

Draft trades

  1. ^ The 49ers traded a third-round selection (92nd overall) to the Dallas Cowboys in exchange for DT Osa Odighizuwa.[27]
  2. ^ The 49ers traded a conditional fifth-round selection (166th overall) to the Philadelphia Eagles in exchange for DE Bryce Huff. This selection would have become a fourth-round selection if Huff recorded eight sacks in 2025, but this condition was not met.[28]
  3. ^ The 49ers traded a sixth-round selection (198th overall) to the New England Patriots in exchange for a conditional seventh-round selection and DE Keion White. The condition – which would return the seventh-round selection to New England if White was active for 7 games – was converted on December 22, 2025.[29]

On February 5, 2026, the NFL announced that the 49ers, as the road team, would face the Los Angeles Rams at the Melbourne Cricket Ground in Melbourne, as part of the NFL International Series.[34][35]
The 49ers will also play one of their home games at Estadio Azteca in Mexico City sometime in December, becoming the first team to play multiple international games in non-consecutive weeks.[36]
