The 2026–27 Premier League will be the 35th season of the Premier League and the 128th season of top-flight English football overall. The season will start on 22 August 2026 and end on 30 May 2027. There will be no fixture on 24 December 2026. The fixtures are set to be released on 17 June 2026 at 09:00 BST.

The 2026–27 season will consist of 33 weekends and five midweek round of matches.[1]

The summer transfer window will open on 15 June 2026 and close on 31 August 2026.[2]

This season will see the usual opening fixtures and final matchweek postponed by 1 week due to the 2026 FIFA World Cup taking place during the off-season.[1]

Twenty teams are competing in the league – the top seventeen teams from the previous season and the three teams promoted from the Championship. As of 22 March 2026, Arsenal, Aston Villa, Manchester City and Manchester Unitedare the only teams to be mathematically assured of their place in the league.

  1. ^ The winners of the 2026–27 FA Cup and the 5th-placed team both qualify for the Europa League. If the FA Cup winners finish in the top five, the 6th-placed team will qualify. If England are one of the two associations with the highest UEFA coefficient points, 5th place will qualify for the Champions League and the other qualifying spots will move down one position.
  2. ^ The winners of the 2026–27 EFL Cup qualify for the Conference League play-off round. If they also win the FA Cup or finish in the top five, the highest-placed team not already qualified for European competition will qualify.
