The 2025 Budweiser G-League was the 35th season of the Guam Soccer League, the top-tier men's professional football league in Guam. The season was organized by the Guam Football Association (GFA).[1]
NAPA Rovers FC emerged as champions, securing a domestic double by winning both the Budweiser G-League title and the GFA Cup within the same calendar year.[2][3]
Format
The 2025 season featured a restructured format to accommodate the increasing number of participating clubs, dividing the league into two distinct tiers: the Haya Division (Premier).[4]
Haya Division (Premier)
The Haya Division consisted of the top eight clubs in Guam. The competition was conducted in two distinct phases:
- Regular Season: A double round-robin tournament where each team played 14 matches (facing every other opponent home and away).
- Playoffs: At the conclusion of the regular season, the top four teams advanced to a single-elimination knockout stage. The first-placed team faced the fourth-placed team, and the second-placed team faced the third-placed team in the semifinals. The winners contested the Grand Final to determine the league champion.[5]
Player Eligibility
Teams were permitted to register a maximum of 25 players. Following GFA regulations, each team in the Haya Division was required to include a minimum of three players under the age of 23 in their matchday squads to promote youth development for the Guam national football team.[6]
Teams
The league consisted of eight teams in the Haya Division (Premier); the top seven teams from the previous season, and one team promoted from the Lagu Division. NAPA Rovers entered the season as the defending champions.[7]
The promoted team was the 2024 Lagu Division champions, Southern Heat Omega, who secured their place in the top flight for the first time. They replaced the bottom-placed team of the 2024 Budweiser G-League, Shipyard Haya, who were initially relegated but later reinstated following the league's expansion to eight teams.[8]
