The 2005 Virginia Cavaliers football team represented the University of Virginia as a member of the Coastal Division in the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) during the 2005 NCAA Division I-A football season. Led by fifth-year head coach Al Groh, the Cavaliers compiled an overall record of 7–5 with a mark of 3–5 in conference play, placing fifth in the ACC's Coastal Division.[1] Virginia was invited to the Music City Bowl, where the Cavaliers defeated Minnesota. The team played home games at Scott Stadium in Charlottesville, Virginia.
